How many sessions will I need?
This is usually assessed in the initial consultation but clients will generally require 8-12 sessions. However specific phobias require 4 sessions including the initial consultation, and smoking cessation is a stand alone two hour session.
Will I lose control?
No, you are 100% in control at all times and nobody can make you do anything you do not want to do. It does not involve the therapist taking control of your mind and your subconscious just rejects any suggestion that is not appropriate for you. There will be no swinging watches or clucking like chickens! The feeling is a lovely sense of relaxation.
What is the difference between Solution Focused Hypnotherapy and other forms of Hypnotherapy?
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy concentrates on the present and future, and helps to reduce anxiety and calm the mind. Rather than analysing the past or dragging up old problems, it helps the client to focus on solutions for their future.
What areas can Hypnotherapy help with?
As many conditions are exacerbated by stress and anxiety, there are many areas that Hypnotherapy can help with. Once our stress levels are reduced, we can begin to focus on enhancing other areas of our lives, which we wish to concentrate on.

How does Hypnotherapy work?
Hypnotherapy is a combination of psychotherapy and hypnosis. Psychotherapy is a form of ‘talking therapy’ that helps the client to focus on the positives and make small steps forwards, and hypnosis is a state of deep relaxation (trance). Trance helps reduce stress and anxiety and whilst in this relaxed state, the mind is more responsive to positive suggestion.

Am I safe to drive afterwards?
Yes you will be perfectly safe to drive.
Will I be able to remember the hypnosis after the session?
You will more than likely remember parts of it, but not all of it. This is normal and is how our memory works in general.
Will I have to close my eyes?
Clients lie down on the couch with a pillow and blanket and will usually close their eyes. This enables you to relax completely and be totally comfortable in order to focus on what is being said.
